Supplementing works (sometimes)
Fisher1 min read
In mid-August, I found out that I was low in iron and B12. Specifically:
Ferritin - 21 ng/mL (38 ng/mL - 380 ng/mL reference range)
B12 - 197 pg/mL (200 pg/mL - 1100 pg/mL).
I started supplementing soon after with a daily 1000 mcg B12 (as cyanocobalamin) and 65 mg Iron (from 325mg Ferrous sulfate).
Just 32 days later, I followed up and was surprised to see that both my deficiencies had seemingly been resolved, with the following levels:
Ferritin - 62 ng/ml
B12 - 677 pg/mL
This might not seem that crazy, but it's nice to see that the supposedly unregulated supplements that flood the market at cheap prices can actually work as intended!
